Call me Ares.
Let’s see, I’m 30 years old, was born and raised in Texas, though not all in the same city. I work as a graphic designer for a small company that shall not be named. I am married to a very kind man who puts up with my quirks, we have no kids, and two dogs. Harley, dog 1, is a Schnoodle mix, we think, and Cisco, dog 2, is a mystery wrapped in an eternal puppy. We think there’s some Schnauzer in there, but really, we have no idea.
I learned to crochet from a book I picked up at the local Micheal’s store that was closing down. The book, “Hip To Crochet”, was interesting, but hard to understand. I did not pick it up right away. Fast forward to 3 years later, still trying to crochet, but I don’t really have much success until I start watching YouTube how-to videos. Don’t ask why I didn’t do this sooner, it just never really occurred to me. Plus cat videos are very distracting.
However, I didn’t really get into it until about a year and a half ago. I started following “The Crochet Crowd” on Facebook and the group projects they did really helped me. A few months ago, I tried my hand at knitting. I’m not terrible at it, but let’s just say I won’t be letting go of my crochet hooks any time soon.
I also do a small amount of sewing, but that’s really only when I need it to complete a crochet or knit project.
